UCSF CME: 54th Annual Recent Advances in Neurology 2021

This meeting is designed for the practicing neurologist and provides a review of clinical neurology with emphasis on areas of recent advances and progress in patient management. Both current concepts and new advances in neurologic disorders will be covered.

Objectives:

Based on discussions with UCSF faculty and practicing physicians at other institutions, the topics were chosen based on physician-identified need for practice-based knowledge. The purpose of this program is to increase attendee competence and improve clinical practice in neurology, specifically to:

• Apply new concepts to epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, aging and movement disorders in practice;
• Recognize and select headache, and dementia of stroke, and multiple sclerosis, headache, dementia, and apply best practices for their management.

Accreditation:

The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Educa tion to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

UCSF designates this live activity for a maximum of 16.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits^TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This CME activity meets the requirements under California Assembly Bill 1195, continuing education and cultural and linguistic competency.

Geriatric Medicine: The approved credits shown above include 2.75 credits toward meeting the requirement under California Assembly Bill 1820, Geriatric Medicine.

Nurses: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits^TM issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME.

Physician Assistants: AAPA accepts category 1 credit from AOACCME, Prescribed credit from AAFP, and AMA PRA. Category 1 CreditTM from organizations accredited by the ACCME.

Pharmacy: The California Board of Pharmacy accepts as continuing professional education those courses that meet the standard of relevance to pharmacy practice and have been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits^TM.

Pharmacotherapeutics CEUs for Nurses: For the purposes of recertification the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits^TM issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME. This activity is designated for a maximum of 4.75 pharmacotherapeutic credits towards meeting the requirement for nursing pharmacology continuing education. Nurses should claim 0.1 CEUs for each contact hour of participation in designated pharmacotherapeutic continuing education.

Pain Management and End-of-LifeCare: Approved credits include 1.00 toward meeting the requirement under California Assembly Bill 487, Pain Management and End-of-Life Care.

ABPN MOC Self-Assessment Credits
This year’s course features a post-test which is valid toward meeting the MOC Part II self-assessment requirements for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. ABPN diplomates will receive Self-Assessment credits after passing the post-test.
