Objectives
Upon completion of both asynchronous and synchronous sessions, learners will be able to:
1. Discuss diagnostic criteria, clinical features, and risk factors for common pediatric diagnoses
2. Identify PT impairments utilizing International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) model for common pediatric diagnoses
3. Choose relevant outcome measures to use when assessing pediatric patients
4. Design evidence-based treatment approaches that target identified outcome measures and impairments

The “Topics in Pediatric Physical Therapy” course by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is designed for a diverse group of healthcare professionals. The target audience includes:
  • Physical therapists (PTs)
  • Physical therapist assistants (PTAs)
  • Medical and other trainees (including medical students, residents, graduate students, post-docs, and fellows)
  • Other healthcare professionals involved in pediatric physical therapy

This course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to address various pediatric physical therapy topics, including gross motor and gait development, orthopedics, sports medicine, oncology, wounds and burns, early intervention, and more.
